Outgoing President Mahinda Rajapaksa shows great respect for Democratic Values.

The result leaves immense pressure on coming President Maithripala Sirisena to get rid of authoritarian attitude in the constitution and corruption. The JVP is to ensure that. Failure of that will be felt as missing of old government among people.

Shockingly most of the national and international observers of the Sri Lankan Presidential election, on 8th of January 2015, yesterday, it is now has confirmed that Mahinda Rajapaksa is to leave the Office and Maithripala Sirisena is on the way to the Office. On Twitter and Facebook pages of Mahinda Rajapaksa he has promised a peaceful transition.

Mahinda Rajapaksa has proven to the world that he was not blinded by the power or the preaching of the people of Ape Rajanani. This peaceful transition is one of the significant action of the Mahinda Rajapaksa that no one seems expected. We all have to respect that Mahinda Rajapaksa and his Government historically defeated of the LTTE and brought unprecedented level of developments to the country. He and his brother laboured to uplift the mentality of the ordinary people of developing nation to a developed nation.

Mr. Maithripala Sirisena and his government has lot to live up to now. The authoritarian attitude of the constitution and corruption has to disappear from the vicinity of public to justify their retaining of the office. It will be proven to them that delivering is much challenging than alleging whatever the present government in Office. There also lays the uplift struggle of the coming administration. The JVP, the left-wing political party with principally different policies and commitments to the state, will keep the lid on this Government too, assuaging the people little less corrupt and may be little less authoritarian attitude at least in the personal personas of coming politicians.

However, not being able to deliver what Maithripala Sirisena promises to deliver will engender his own reign in the Office. And that will perhaps in return will lead people to miss the old government.
